Main Street Murray relies on the volunteerism and philanthropy of our Murray community. Without your support, this program would not be possible.

 

 

Why Should I Get Involved?

 

Murray Main Street is more than just another attempt at downtown revitalization. It’s an effort to preserve our heritage  in order to prepare a prosperous tomorrow.

 

By restoring and renovating our downtown area, we honor the men and women who went before us – creating a center for business and commerce that has endured for generations.
       

How Can I Help?

 

Become a member of Murray Main Street -- Community members keep Murray Main Street running. We rely solely on memberships, donations and fundraisers to keep the program moving forward. No grant money is used to cover administration or overhead costs. All Main Street grant money is allocated to the city and county for streetscape and building improvements. This is why your membership makes such a difference. 

As a member of Murray Main Street you will receive newsletters; our annual publication “Preserve the Past, Imagine the Future”; invitations to our annual membership meetings, special events and activities; and active voting privileges in electing the Murray Main Street Board of Directors.  Most important, your support will directly help revitalization efforts of the court square.   

Your support is appreciated and we hope you will renew your membership to continue this on-going transformation of the downtown area.  With our new data system, you will only be contacted once a year for an annual membership request.  Please renew your membership or become a new member, today!

Serve on one of our committees--offer your leadership by serving on one of the following committees:

Design – Getting downtown into top physical shape by preserving and enhancing its assets.

Economic Restructuring – Strengthening the existing economic base of downtown and finding ways to expand its potential and meet new opportunities and challenges from outlying development.

Organization – Building and operating a program that meets the needs and challenges of downtown revitalization efforts.

Promotion – Creating and bringing events to the central business district.  Marketing downtown’s assets to shoppers, investors, new businesses, local citizens, and visitors.

Purchase an engraved brick--as part of the downtown Streetscape Plan, Murray Main Street is selling specially engraved bricks.  Several areas have been designated for donor bricks.  Each of the following sections will have an engraved marker denoting the area:

• In Honor of

• Veterans

• Business

• Pets

• Community Supporter

The cost for a brick is as follows:

• $50 for two lines of text on a brick

• $60 for three lines of text on a brick

Note: 13 characters per line with spaces also counting as characters.

Volunteer in the Main Street Office--volunteer one day a week or five, our volunteers have fun while knowing they are making a lasting impact on our community.

 

Serve as an Event Volunteer--maybe you can't commit to volunteer efforts on a weekly basis, but you can still help out. Murray Main Street sponsors or co-sponsors dozens of events each year. These events take hundreds of volunteers just like you.

 

Preach the Good News--of Murray Main Street that is. Tell your friends and relatives about us. We're helping return downtown Murray to its rightful place as center of community pride and we need your help to get the word out.
